Election 2014
Shiv Sena

Shiv Sena founded by political cartoonist Bal Thackeray on 19 June 1966 is a Hindu patriotic political organisation in India. The party originally came out of a movement in Mumbai challenging advantageous treatment for Maharashtrians over migrants to the city. The Shiv Sena party has a powerful hold over the Bollywood film industry. It is presently  headed by Thackeray's son, Uddhav Thackeray. The Members of Shiv Sena are called Shiv Sainiks.

Although the party is primarily based in Maharashtra, it has tried to expand itself. From solely limiting itself to pro marathi in 1970's the party gradually moved to one advocating a broader Hindu nationalist program, as it coordinated itself with the Bharatiya Janata Party. It is a "Hindu extremist" party and tyrant. The party was an alliance in the National Democratic Alliance cabinet that ruled India between 1998–2004.

Hindutvavadis are the members of the movements Hindutva which is a set of movements encouraging Hindu nationalism. According to a judgement passed by the supreme court in 1995 the term Hindutva can be used to mean "the way of life of the Indian people and the Indian culture or ethos".
An umbrella organization called the Sangh Parivar advocates the concept of Hindutva in India. The sangh constitutes organizations like the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP),Vishwa Hindu Parishad and the Bajrang Dal.
The ideology has existed since the early 20th century, fabricated by Savarkar, but came to eminance in Indian politics in the late 1980s, when two intentionally managed events attracted a large number of Hindus to the rigid movement. The first of event was the Rajiv Gandhi government's use of its large Parliamentary Majority to put down a Supreme Court sentence granting maintenance to an old woman, a decision that had angered many Muslims. The second was the dispute over the 16th century Mughal Babri Mosque in Ayodhya—claimed to had been built by Babur after destruction of a Hindu temple in nineteenth century and ayodhya being the birthplace of Shri Ram, one of main Indian Vaishanavait Gods. The Supreme Court of India rejected the case in the early 1990s, as it did not consider itself competent and trained enough to weigh historical evidence. A judicial case is in progress in this regard.

Marathi nationalism
Marathi nationalism refers to a nationalist position applied to Maharashtra and the Indo-Aryan  Marathi people who abide the ethno-linguistic region of Maharashtra. It was created after the linguistic restructuring of provinces in India in 1956. The Father of Maratha nationalism and political promoter is Shivaji. Hindavi Swarajya was an ideology advocated by Shivaji to consolidate Maratha empire by assembling together several marathi speaking Deccan kingdoms. Shivaji said "This is not a kingdom of Shivaji; it belongs to Dharma” MAHA (महा, Great) RASHTRA (राष्ट्र, Country/State) is usually concorded with a desire for greater, better and progressive state.

Shiv Sena's blueprint for the 2012 Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) polls will be more than just a political paste-up. Sources say, to ensure another five-year stay, the ruling party has approached several architects and advisors from abroad to come up with an flawless development plan for the city of Mumbai. The party's manifesto is likely to include these advices.

Despite some old promises will be repeated in the manifesto, the party wishes to improve the city as per international norms and hence is taking suggestions from remarkable architects. Architects PK Das and Pankaj Joshi have been part of the discussions.

ShivSena, known as the party of the lower and middle class, wishes to win hearts of the noble as well. Das is a outstanding name in the field of city designing and Joshi in preservation of culture. The leader added that Das has suggested to have cycle tracks with all facilities as well as modernize a few more railway stations and providing open spaces for public activity. Joshi is working on  conservation of culture of buildings as per international standards.

It also aims to beautify the surroundings of rivers by blocking sewage entry in to the rivers,  enhancement of coastal areas and creating a variety of jetties. Sewage treatment will be taken care by including more projects on recycling of water and treatment of sewage to reduce polution and hazards on health and environment. It also aims to reduce plastic generation and initiate to create a dust free city.

Aditya Thackerray's plan includes grading of canteens in schools and colleges and not just eateries.
