Shri.Haroon Yusuf was popular and active leader of congress party. He was born on March 6, 1958 in Delhi. He was the son of Late Sh. Mohammad Yusuf. He was elected from Ballimaran Constituency of Chandni Chowk in Delhi. During Student days he actively associated with NSUI in different capacities. He was interested in solving various problems through different forums. After pursuing M.Com he entered in active politics and in 1988, he was elected as Secretary of Delhi Pradesh Youth Congress and take on responsibilities like as Chairman, Anti-Narcotic Cell, All India Youth Congress Wing. Presently, Haroon Yusuf is the honorable minister of food & civil supplies, power, industries and employment.

1988 Haroon Yusuf was elected as Secretary of Delhi Pradesh Youth Congress and take on the responsibilities like Chairman, Anti-Narcotic Cell, and All India Youth Congress Wing.
1989 He was appointed as Joint Secretary of All India Youth Congress.
1993 He was elected to the first Delhi Legislative Assembly from Ballimaran Constituency in the Assembly Elections
1993 - 96 Deputy Chief Whip of the Legislative Assembly
1998 Re-elected to the second Legislative Assembly
1999 Chairman of Estimates Committee of Delhi Legislative Assembly
1999 - 2002 Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee of the Delhi Legislative Assembly
2000 - 01 Made Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee of the Delhi Legislative Assembly
6 Dec 2001 He was inducted to the Delhi Cabinet for the first time as Minister of Development, Revenue, Irrigation and Flood Control and Food & Civil Supplies Department.
Dec 2003 Third time as a Member of Legislative Assembly from the same constituency and was made the Minister of Transport and Power.
Dec 2008 He has been appointed as Minister and assigned the portfolios of Food & Supplies and Industries Department, Government of Delhi after registering a thumping fourth consecutive victory.
